Ceremony choices

We at weddingxtras.co.uk have broken down the details of all the types of weddings you can choose from.  Here are the four options:

1)      Rules of Engagement: You and your fiancé/e must be at least 16years old to get married within the UK.  In Wales and England you have get consent from your parents if you are less than 18 years old.  And last but not least you have to have two witnesses.

2)      Civil Ceremony: If you wish to get married in the UK you have to be solemnised by a registrar which can happen in either an register office or building approved for marriage.

3)      Religious Ceremony: You can get married in a Church of England as long as it is in your parish or you have connection with that church.  You banns will have to be read 3 times before your wedding day at your chosen church, and the two local parishes where you live.

4)      Overseas Weddings: You will have to be in the country of your choice for at least 5 days before you get married and you will need to check that the marriage licence is valid for when you return to your home country.

Camera Shy??

1)      Find a photographer you gets you and your partner: Ensure the photographer you choose has a similar personality and understands what you want to capture in your photos.

2)      Personalise your photos: Ensure your photographer has 20 minutes alone in each venue so they can capture all the small but personal photos of your decorations

3)      Have fun formal shots: Don’t get stressed trying to figure out who and where you want your photos, have a chat with your photographer before the special day and make a list of all the photos you would like and where on the grounds you would like them.

4)      Entertain your guests: Keep your guests happy whilst photos are being taken by booking a magician or caricaturist for a laugh, when people are preoccupied with fun things they become less self-conscious.

5)      Opt for a pre-wedding shoot: If you and your partner are still camera shy then why not get ahead and have a tester before your wedding so you can have a practice and get relaxed around the camera and the photographer.

Hair Raiser Issues

Are you worried about having a bad hair day on your wedding? Fear not we at weddingxtras.co.uk are here to answer all your questions and provide you with advice and support.

 

Q: How do I know I’ve chosen the right hair stylist?

A: Ask around ask your friends and family for their advice.  Ask to see photos of previous brides they have done.  Make sure you have plenty of trials before the wedding so you are sure you are happy with your decision.

Q: We’re on a tight budget so am thinking of doing my own hair, will I regret this?

A: Depends on the style of your wedding if you are having an informal one you can get away with flowing locks, however if you are having a formal one you might like to have a few trials with a hairdresser and “copy” some of their ideas and ask for their suggestions.

Q: How soon before my wedding should I colour my hair?

A:  Our advice is never leaving it too late you want to discuss colour choices at least 6 months before the big day.  Then book your 1^st appointment 3months for the full head and then book the “retouch” (to go over the roots) appointment 2weeks before the big day.

Q: I’m having two wedding dresses one for the ceremony and the other for the evening and I wandered whether it was possible to have two hair do’s to complete my looks.

A: We would recommend an “up-do” hair style for the ceremony and a free flowing down style for the evening (just don’t over do the hair spray on the up-do).

Q: I’m thinking of having a half-up, half-down hair style for my day and I was wondering which hair accessories would work?

A: Why not take elements from your wedding dress and try to entwine it in your hair, pick out a detail like pearls and find a comb or a clip which add subtle design to your hair style.
